BRIMFIELD, Ill. – The sunflowers will not shine at Jubilee State Park this year.
In a social media post on Thursday, the park says it relies on farmers to help plant the sunflowers that bloom in the late-summer.
But the ag lease to do the work was put out for bid three times by the park, with no interest generated for it.
The park is hopeful to have the sunflowers back next year.
Jubilee State Park says in addition to being an attraction, sunflower fields help encourage dove hunting.
