PEORIA, Ill. – A teenager was arrested twice last week by Peoria Police for the same offense.
Officers observed a vehicle driving recklessly Saturday just before 1:00 A.M. in the area of Peoria and Nebraska Avenues, then stop in the area of Maryland and Arcadia. The vehicle had been reported stolen.
That’s where a 15-year-old male, identified as the driver, exited the vehicle and fled on foot, but was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.
Peoria Police say the same teen was arrested on April 23rd for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle.
Officers reportedly found stolen property from a previous vehicle burglary on the teenager during a search.
The teen was arrested on charges of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Burglary to a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property, and two counts of Criminal Damage to Property.
He was then taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
