UPDATE – PEORIA, Ill. – The victim of a fatal shooting in Peoria’s West Bluff has been identified.
The Peoria County Coroner’s Office says Thomas Antoine, 30, of Main Street in Peoria was found by officers near Gale and Underhill around 1:25 a.m. Saturday unresponsive with no pulse and not breathing.
Despite aggressive resuscitative efforts, Antoine was pronounced dead in the trauma room at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center at 2:18 a.m.
An autopsy is scheduled Monday.
Antoine is Peoria’s sixth homicide victim of 2024.
Peoria police say officers responded to the area on a report of a person shot. Antoine was found inside a vehicle which also had been struck by gunfire.
There is no suspect information and the incident is under investigation.

PEORIA, Ill. – A shooting in Peoria’s West Bluff has become the city’s 6th homicide of 2024.
Officers were called to the area of North Gale and Underhill around 1:25 a.m. Saturday on a report of a person shot. They arrived to find an adult man with an apparent gunshot wound inside a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire.
Lifesaving measures were performed on the victim before he was transferred to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
There is no suspect information and the incident is under investigation.
